Portishead Funeral Services is an independent funeral director serving Portishead and the surrounding area. Their approach is compassionate, personal and straightforward, helping families through a difficult time while giving them the flexibility to arrange a funeral that reflects the individual they have lost.
As a local business providing such a personal service, it was particularly important that their brand felt warm, trustworthy and approachable, while retaining the professionalism and sensitivity expected of a funeral director.
The Project
This project went beyond the website itself. We worked with Portishead Funeral Services to develop a new brand identity, including a new logo and visual style that could provide a consistent foundation for both their online presence and wider marketing.
With the new identity established, we designed and built a website around it. The muted, natural colour palette, generous use of space and understated typography were deliberately chosen to create a calm and reassuring experience. Information is clearly organised so that visitors can find practical guidance on funeral arrangements, plans, venues and fees without having to navigate an unnecessarily complicated website.
Branding and Professional Photography Included
We also arranged professional photography for the project. Rather than relying heavily on generic stock imagery, this gave us authentic photographs of the people behind the business and helped communicate the personal, local nature of the service. For a business where trust and human connection are so important, being able to see the people you’ll actually be speaking to makes a considerable difference.
The finished project brings the branding, photography, content and website together as one cohesive identity. Portishead Funeral Services now has a professional and distinctive presence that feels appropriate to the sensitive nature of their work, while remaining welcoming, accessible and unmistakably local.
