By using the most popular and versatile CMS platform on the planet, WordPress, you’ll ensure the longevity and ongoing support of your website for years to come.
In fact, the only thing that can make WordPress daunting to the uninitiated is just how well-supported and adaptable it is, leading to so many options that it can be overwhelming.
WordPress is the lynch-pin for a truly vast ecosystem of development of themes, plugins and third-party integrations that has been steadily snowballing for two decades. It’s impossible to say exactly what percentage of all websites are built with WordPress but estimates range from one third to nearly half. This includes 8 of the top 20 companies from The Times Fast Track 100 in 2022.
Free Range Web has over a decade of experience in navigating this ecosystem and can help you find the perfect combination of design and infrastructure to match your business needs, while giving you the training and software support to handle content, contacts and orders easily yourself.

Web Design Packages
We’ve broken down the different types of websites we offer into four main categories, with clear distinctions. If you’re looking to set up a B2B service website, an online shop, memberships or just a simple landing page to get you going, we can help.

B2B or B2C Service Websites
Promote your business with detailed pages about each of your services, how you provide them and how your customers can get in touch. Key to the success of a service website is the clarity of your message and a straight-forward funnel for any enquiry. Content and keyword research, customer journey, and good data capture are all essential here.

Ecommerce
Ecommerce websites come with all sorts of fun problems to solve, which makes them a particular favourite of ours. From managing inventory, running sales and creating coupons, integrating with ad campaigns to synchronising stock levels across multiple sales channels, there’s a lot to get into under the hood that will increase sales, help automate your business and reduce admin.

1 Page Websites
Sometimes all you need is something to get you off the ground, with some basic information about you, your services and other relevant links, along with contact details so people can get in touch. 1 page websites are quick, inexpensive and simple to put together.

Charities / Non-Profits
We provide special discounts on all of our services to respectable non-profits and charitable organisations, to help them with their costs. In some cases, we may even provide a service for free if it’s for a worthy cause.
WordPress Training
It really isn’t cost-effective to pay a freelance developer to make rudimentary changes that you could easily do yourself. Often, the effort to put together the request in an email, attach any files they’ll need and so on will take more time in itself – and be more technically challenging – than just making the changes yourself. It’s just a matter of knowing how. That’s why, as a final step to any website project, we provide personal training to you or your staff, so that you’ll be able to handle basic changes in-house. This would include things like posting new blogs, adding new, simple pages, adjusting your contact forms and so on.
With a website build, we provide up to an hour and a half of training at no extra cost. However, we can also offer training as a stand-along service. Click the link below if you’d like to know more.
Additional Information
On top of setting up your website, we can offer a range of services from WCAG compliance checks to ongoing hosting and support. Accessibility is a mandatory concern for some organisations but should be something that everyone should think about. Our hosting and maintenance packages will ensure that your website is kept spic and span for years to come.
If you already have a WordPress website but would like some input or advice on it, you can book a free consultation or we can organise some training.
What is Your Process?
Meeting to Discuss Requirements
First, we’ll have a chat to learn about your business and what you’re looking to achieve with your new website. It normally takes about an hour. We want to learn about your business so we can find out how the new website, and any other services we’re providing for you, can best fit into and enhance your wider marketing strategies and objectives. Quotation – within two days
Based on our conversation, we’ll put together a detailed proposal, outlining what we’ll do for you and how. This will include some things that we might need from you to complete the project, such as copy or product data.
Website Detail Form
Once the proposal is agreed, we’ll send over a short form to collect some extra, fine details on what you’d like to include on the website. For example, contact details you’d like to have prominence.
Establishing Content
Whether we’re writing the copy for you or you’re supplying it to us, we’ll gather it together, ready to use for the website.
Development Phase
We will develop a fully-functional, responsive WordPress website based on the above direction and the specifications outlined in this proposal.
Amendments Round
We’ll submit the initial draft of the website to you and ask for any feedback and changes. There are usually some adjustments to make and we don’t put a limit on the number of changes you can have within the project scope, however we do need them all to be compiled into one document and signed off on. We’ll organise a meeting to go through the website and help with getting the required changes in order.
WordPress Training
We will provide an hour and a half of WordPress training for up to 3 people in a session, empowering you to manage basic changes to the website yourself, if you want to. This is also an opportunity to make any additional tweaks or changes to the site, on top of the amendments round.
Go Live!
Once the amendments are completed and you’re happy with everything, we’ll make the site live on your chosen domain and hosting package, do some optimisation to make it faster and go through a checklist of other things, such as setting up Google Analytics, submitting a sitemap to Google, testing contact forms etc. Once we’ve completed our checks, you’re up and running!
